Elden Ring: What to Do With Dragon Hearts
Players wishing to learn the location of the Unalloyed Gold Needle must first seek out the NPC Gowry in Caelid, found in his shack just past the south gate to Selia, City of Sorcery. (Marked with a red dot on the map above) Gowry needs the needle to cure a woman named Millicent of her illness, the same disease that has turned Caelid into a toxic hellscape. He offers a single hint, telling players to look for it in the Swamp of Aeonia, in the heart of Caelid.
Within the Swamp of Aeonia, on the eastern side of the swamp, is a large boss arena featuring a battle with Commander O'Neil. The Commander wields a dangerous spear and spreads scarlet rot with his special attacks, which also generate shockwaves of wind that can knock the player down.
Making the fight trickier is his entourage of Soldiers. When he is first attacked, he will charge up a move that causes several spectral soldiers and archers to appear, who can deal surprising amounts of damage with their arrows. At half health he will charge up another move, summoning spectral soldiers armed with axes that have a large amount of health and deal huge damage with their slow attacks.
Slaying Commander O'Neil will reward players with the Unalloyed Gold Needle.
