For those who've taken on all the tough bosses the Lands Between can offer, a lot of endgame challenge in Elden Ring can come from the PvP available in the game. A player testing out their build against another character can prove for a great challenge. However, some looking to farm runes in Elden Ring simply want a victory over another player as quickly as possible, whether that be through going AFK on an incredibly hard to reach spot while being invaded, or creating a build that can instantly kill a player once they spawn in for a duel.
Dueling is seen by many as a more pure form of PvP in Elden Ring, with it consisting of two players matched against one another without any assistance from others. However, this doesn't mean that some still won't try and gain an unfair advantage in duels, something that Reddit user Andromeda_06 found out recently as when they spawned in their opponent was attempting to kill them. The other player was using an Ash of War that causes huge eruptions of blood to hit enemies.
Elden Ring Player Takes Out PvP Opponent With a Single Hit
This Ash of War is known as Bloodboon Ritual, and is only applied to one weapon, which is Mohgwyn's Sacred Spear, which is aptly dropped by Mohg, Lord of Blood in Elden Ring. Andromeda_06's opponent was hoping that the Bloodboon Ritual would be an instant kill, but they mistimed their use of the Ash of War, resulting in an awkward moment where the opponent summons an apocalyptic amount of blood only for it to seemingly accomplish nothing.
Andromeda_06 then manages to kill their opponent in one strike. This confused some players, but a comment later explained that the opponent was likely on low health in order to activate the Red Feathered Branch Sword, a talisman in
