An artistically inclined Elden Ring player has found a way to make the game a little more manageable: a notebook full of hand-drawn illustrations. Many consider Elden Ring to be a tough game, and some of that difficulty connects to its myriad unique locations, enemy types, esoteric items, and mysterious lore.
It's only been a few days since Elden Ring was released to the general public, but already players are making their marks on The Lands Between. The sprawling, strange, and somewhat unsettling open world is dense with surprises and mysteries to uncover. Like many other open-world titles, Elden Ring grants players the use of a map (upon finding sections of it while playing the game) and a fast-travel function. Exploring the world isn't as straightforward as other open-world titles, though, as the organization of landmarks, bosses, and NPCs are not directly pointed out via a system of waypoints or quest markers. Instead, players simply have to traverse the environment themselves with the help of context clues and a healthy dose of curiosity. This novel approach to open-world design has been a point of praise in Elden Ring's countless positive reviews, with many players finding it central to the overall experience.
