One fast-moving Elden Ring player took a jump that landed a little too close to their target, causing them to accidentally stomp an NPC like a Super Mario Goomba. FromSoftware's open-world title has now been available to players for over a month and the community is still discovering unique secrets and fun ways to kill enemies with varying degrees of awe and frustration.
Like most video games, death is a common mechanic in FromSoftware titles, but what's different in games like Elden Ring is that dying and reviving is actually worked into the lore of the game world. This becomes all the more amusing when Elden Ring players meet their end in a hilarious way, rather than epically facing down a tough enemy. The same can be said for NPCs who, until provoked, are often at the mercy of the player and the surrounding world, and unfortunately, accidents happen.

Reddit user Flashypenguin0 shared footage of one such mishap with the Elden Ring NPC named Millicent, which saw the user stomp her like aSuper Mario Goomba. As they are running along the landscape to reach her, the player jumps from an elevated rock and lands directly on the seated NPC. This unintentional Mario-style Goomba stomp proves to be deadlier than the player hoped, as it instantly kills Millicent, leaving the stunned player to lament why this is even possible in the first place.
While it is not a new mechanic in FromSoftware games, jumping is easier to do in Elden Ring than previous Souls-like games due to the title's open-world and vertical design.
