Elden Ring currently has mixed reviews on Steam owing mostly to its performance issues. Some PC players with graphics cards like the RTX 3080, have still reportedly been experiencing stuttering, and less than desirable framerates at 1080p. This is rather concerning when one considers that the game's Steam page recommends users have a GTX 1070 graphics card if they want to run the game smoothly.

While some PC players are struggling to even achieve playable framerates, others were annoyed that the game was capped at 60 FPS. This encouraged one user to create a mod that unlocks the game's framerate by setting a new custom limit. The mod seems to work with the unmodified Steam version of the game, however, it is not recommended to use the mod when playing online, as this could result in a ban.
Other PC players seem to have found a way to reduce Elden Ring's performance issues. Some PC players have claimed that if users force the game to run in high performance mode through Windows Graphics settings or switch the power plan to balanced under power plan options that the game will run significantly more smoothly. While this seems to have worked for some users, others are still reporting poor performance and serious stuttering.
