Elden Ring is here, and while it’s not quite the best game of all time, it’s still very good. And befitting a game that’s both very good and hotly anticipated, it’s setting a few records on Steam.
As noted by Niko Partners analyst Daniel Ahmad, Elden Ring peaked at 764,835 concurrent players on Steam overnight, which is the seventh-highest concurrent user count for a single game on the platform. Dark Souls 3 peaked at 130,000 concurrent players, while Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice peaked at roughly 125,000 players.

As of the time of this writing, there are 674,000 viewers on Twitch, which indicates that several hundred thousand viewers stopped watching to just go play the game themselves when it launched in their region.
