FromSoftware has revealed the minimum and recommended hardware specifications for the PC version of Elden Ring, giving fans an idea of what kind of computer they'll need to run the game. Elden Ring is coming to consoles (except for Nintendo Switch) as well as PC, which means the game has to at least be able to run on PS4 and Xbox One to an acceptable degree.
The Soulsborne series once had a rocky reputation on PC. The first PC version of Dark Souls was notoriously awful and it practically required fan patches in order to run properly. Luckily, this mistake was rectified with later entries in the series, and the remaining Dark Souls games and Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice all run fine on PC. Elden Ring has a massive open world that requires a mount to explore with speed, so it's going to be far more demanding on hardware than older FromSoftware games.
