An Elden Ring player has already discovered the quickest way to farm Runes in the newest FromSoftware game, and the strategy does not even require the player to draw a weapon. No game in the Dark Souls franchise is for the faint of heart and the new installment is no exception. In fact, Elden Ring’s creator apologized for its difficulty already, less than a week after Elden Ring went live.
As with any Dark Souls game, Elden Ring can be made significantly easier with some strategic acquisition of Runes to level up players' important stats early on. Other games in the Dark Souls franchise have well-known routes players can run through to quickly farm for Souls (the name for currency and experience in previous titles in the series) or convenient bonfires located near large groups of enemies for the player to quickly slaughter before resting to bring them all back and repeating the whole process to taste. While the game offers lots of new features and elements, Elden Ring is similar to previous FromSoft games in many ways like this.

Elden Ring has only been out for a handful of days but already an extremely efficient Rune-farming path has been discovered. The path was figured out by YouTuber and content creator TagBackTV, who explained the path, as well as a quick exploit to poison a boss to death for an easy 42,000 Runes along the way, in a recent video. Of all the farming methods found in previous Souls games, this one might take the cake for efficiency generating nearly 2,000 Runes per repetition.
