Following several weeks of leaks, developer FromSoftware has finally asked fans to not spoil Elden Ring for other players in the lead up to launch. The recent Elden Ring leaks began making the rounds online in December 2021, courtesy of hackers who managed to jailbreak the PS4 and regain access to the Closed Network Test that FromSoftware and publisher Bandai Namco Entertainment hosted in November.
Those who poured over the Elden Ring files uncovered quest and voice-over data, which boasted information ranging from specific plot details to endgame content information. Unsurprisingly, gameplay footage hit the web in the days and weeks that followed, showing off the character creation system, combat encounters, talking tree NPCs, and more. Another round of leaks hit the web just a few days ago, too, most notably featuring footage of Elden Ring's opening cinematic. Given the long-awaited RPG's imminent release, it seems the crew at FromSoftware finally felt it prudent to make a statement about an issue fans have combated for roughly two months.

This particular warning should not come as too much of a surprise since review copies are available to critics. However, some fans have still pointed out that FromSoftware neglected to upload a similar post when leaked details and footage hit the web late last year. Better later than never, though.
