Dying Light 2 implements a lot of RPG mechanics in its character progression. Actions performed in the open world, from combat to Parkour, will level up Aiden's abilities the more they're performed. The same can be said of character interactions and choices throughout the game's story.
Unfortunately, character choice doesn't have the same kind of impact or flexibility as something like Skyrim or The Witcher. In Dying Light 2, Aiden is required to choosebetween two important factions in the game called The Peacekeepers and The Survivors. Thankfully, there is no right or wrong choice when it comes to factions, as it has very little impact on the game's story. The player can unlock faction upgrades by improving their standing with either the Peacekeepers or the Survivors, and assigning them territories.
