Dying Light 2 players have found many Easter eggs in the game referencing many different video games like Cyberpunk 2077. Now it seems as though Techland included a reference to Dying Light in Dying Light 2.
Techland is no stranger to Easter eggs and references, and players have already found a number of them in Dying Light 2 while many more are still likely undiscovered. Considering that the original Dying Light also included many well-known Easter eggs, the fact that Techland have again stocked the sequel with hidden things to find shouldn't be too surprising. The most renowned of which was the Super Mario Bros. World 1-1 that allowed players to experience the famous level in first person, even featuring zombies as Goombas.
Dying Light 2 Has Resident Evil Easter Egg
The original Dying Light had a particularly haunting theme song that played at the title screen. Techland was aware of this and decided to make reference to the iconic theme song in Dying Light 2. In the game's tutorial, Aiden can find Spike playing the piano, and if he hangs around for long enough Spike will begin playing Dying Light's theme song.
This is not the only reference that Techland has made to its past work, as players have found two references to Dead Island in the game as well. The first Dying Light 2 Dead Island Easter egg can also be found in the game's tutorial. The Easter egg is a record player called “Who Do You Voodoo?”, which is a direct reference to a song rapped in the prologue of Dead Island.
The other Dead Island reference can also be found in the prologue, although it is slightly less obvious. If players look out towards the horizon, there is a tree in the middle of a river that looks nearly exactly like the Dead Island logo.
