Gaming outlets and publications have had their hands on the game for some time in order to review the highly-anticipated sequel, and while Dying Light 2 reviews praise the gameplay, its story elements have been criticized, though this doesn't seem to have impacted the number of Easter eggs found throughout the world.

Dying Light 2 has suffered from a troubled development, with many believing the title might not ever make it to store shelves. Following multiple delays, the game is finally set to release on February 4 across PC and consoles. Aiming to evolve on the world laid out by its predecessor, Dying Light 2 promises to deliver more realism, more terror, and more parkour. Unfortunately for Techland, copies of the game reached some fans ahead of release, with the developer warning Dying Light 2 players to wait for the day-one patch.

While many are still waiting to play Dying Light 2, those with copies of the game are already sharing some of its features and Easter eggs, including one that pays homage to Resident Evil. As spotted by GameSpew, the callback to the iconic zombie series that arguably started it all can be found when meeting two characters, named Leon and Chris. The publication notes that Dying Light 2's Leon bears a striking resemblance to Leon S. Kennedy from the RE series, while a joke about punching seemingly references Chris Redfield's iconic Resident Evil 5
