Techland's Dying Light 2 had an impressive launch, selling over 5 million copies in February alone. Part of what drove excitement for the sequel was undoubtedly Techland's dedication to supporting the original Dying Light with post-launch content. While it remains accurate that Techland has substantial plans for Dying Light 2 DLC, it's now confirmed that a major part of it is being delayed. Dying Light 2's first story DLC, previously planned to arrive in June, has been pushed back to later this year.
In a message shared on Twitter, Techland confirmed to Dying Light 2 players that the game's planned DLC release for June was being delayed. Techland states that it's a priority for the studio to be «honest and transparent» with players, and with that in mind Techland says that it's unable to deliver the DLC on-schedule. «We still need a bit more time» is how Techland characterizes the need for the delay.

The delay isn't extreme, by any means, but it's not slight, either. Dying Light 2 players can now expect the game's first story DLC to arrive in September instead of June. It will be delivered three months later than expected. Techland also apologized for the delay and asks Dying Light players to look forward to other updates arriving between now and September that should make the wait less of an issue.
