The previously announced movie based on the game It Takes Two is moving ahead, with Dwayne «The Rock» Johnson's Seven Bucks Productions joining to produce it, according to Variety. The site's sources said Johnson himself could star in the movie, but this is not confirmed as of yet.
It's also reported that the It Takes Two movie is being made for Amazon Studios through production company dj2's previously announced partnership with the entertainment giant.

This would be just the latest video game movie from The Rock. He previously starred in the films Rampage and Doom, as well as the new Jumanji films (which are sort of video game movies).
The It Takes Two movie, should it materialize beyond the idea stage it's at now, will follow the story of the 2021 game. This means it will tell the story of May and Cody, a couple going through a divorce who become dolls that their daughter Rose made to represent them. May and Cody embark on a magical journey through fantastical worlds in an effort to return to their physical bodies.
Pat Casey and Josh Miller, who wrote Sonic the Hedgehog and its recent sequel, are attached to write and produce the It Takes Two movie. Game director Josef Fares--a filmmaker himself--will be an executive producer.
dj2 has been making waves in the video game space lately. The company is behind the Sonic the Hedgehog movie franchise, as well as the Tomb Raider anime series for Netflix. dj2 is also making a Disco Elysium TV
