Warning! SPOILERS For Jurassic World: Dominion.
Jurassic World: Dominion shows how underutilized the Dilophosaurus has been in the Jurassic Park franchise. Despite its weak reviews, Jurassic World: Dominion has struck box office gold in bringing the modern and original Jurassic Park casts together in a new adventure, as mankind is forced to live in a world with dinosaurs. It also brings back a familiar pre-historic face in the Dilophosaurus.
In the film's third act, a Dilophosaurus almost kills Claire Dearing (Bryce Dallas Howard) before being stopped by Owen Grady (Chris Pratt) and Kayla Watts (DeWanda Wise). Later, a Dilophosaurus trio attack and eat the villainous Lewis Dodgson (Campbell Scott). In both scenes, the Dilophosaurus, complete with the dinosaur’s paralyzing and blinding venom, is supremely frightening, showing just how much their absence has been a mistake.
