The latest installment in the WWE 2K franchise, WWE 2K22, was released in March 2022 for PC, PlayStation and Xbox consoles, with players hopeful that cross-play between platforms would be possible. Cross-generation play is possible, meaning that players on next-gen consoles can play with their friends on older consoles, as long as they are different generations of the same console. Unfortunately, that’s as far as cross-platform support goes for WWE 2K22, which may come as a disappointment.
After the widespread criticism of WWE 2K20, the game’s creators 2K Sports and Visual Concepts decided to cancel the planned sequel. Instead, they went back to the drawing board to ensure the next installment of the series didn’t receive the same less than favorable reception as its predecessor. So far, WWE 2K22 has received generally positive reviews, with the game receiving praise for being more polished than its predecessor, and for making several notable improvements across its single-player gameplay modes.

Despite being released on multiple platforms from day one, WWE 2K22 does not support crossplay between different platforms in online multiplayer mode. Therefore, PC players are unable to play online multiplayer mode with their friends on consoles. Additionally, players on PlayStation and Xbox are unable to play with each other.
