The Edge+ (2022) is the first proper flagship smartphone from Motorola in nearly two years — but does this latest model have a 3.5mm headphone jack? Not that long ago, headphone jacks were an expected feature on virtually every smartphone. Whether someone was buying a top-of-the-line handset or something more affordable, the headphone jack used to be something you could rely on being there.
In 2022, that's no longer the case. Ever since Apple removed the headphone jack from the iPhone 7 in 2016, the rest of the smartphone industry has been quick to follow suit. Future iPhone models continue to ship without the headphone jack, as do most phones from other companies. Whether it's Samsung, Google, OnePlus, or anyone else, the once iconic 3.5mm port is now a relic of the past.

Unfortunately, this has also affected the Motorola Edge+ (2022). This latest version of the Edge+ is the most capable phone we've seen from Motorola in a long time. It has a Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 processor, a huge OLED display with a 144Hz refresh rate, a triple camera system, and a 4800 mAh battery. While all of those numbers look good, they don't change the fact that the Motorola Edge+ (2022) does not have a 3.5mm headphone jack. While not uncommon for most phones these days, it's especially disappointing considering that the Edge+ (2020) did have a headphone jack. With the 2022 model, however, Motorola's officially gotten rid of it.
While the lack of a headphone jack is undoubtedly disappointing, Motorola did equip the Edge+ (2022) with some other audio features to try and make up for it. If you want to use wireless headphones with the Edge+ (2022), the phone has Bluetooth 5.2 to make sure the connection
