If you love futuristic anime, gacha games, and turn-based combat, Dislyte is going to be a great fit for you. It’s a free mobile game where you build a squad from more than 80 heroes (called Espers) to battle in both PvE and PvP combat, which you can level up and equip with items. Plus, there’s a full storyline alongside a host of boss battles and other options.

Desolate Lands was the first major content added to Dislyte after its release. It adds a whole new area to the Trials section, with four new bosses to encounter – and new rewards. But there’s much more to it than that. These guys are a whole extra level up, meaning you can take extra Espers, and it’s all about survival rather than defeating the enemy. This means that Dislyte's Desolate Lands need new teams and new strategies.
Each battle comprises a single battle wave, and each boss represents one of the four element colours in Dislyte, with the main boss Shademother being Shimmer (neutral) attuned – and who will be added to the game later. You can take six Espers into each battle instead of the usual four, with four in the front row and two behind. The usual element matching applies.
The front line, as expected, tends to take the bulk of the damage – so put your characters with the highest DEF in the frontline. The back-row makeup will depend on the specific boss (see below).
Espers can be equipped with Relics as normal, and you can choose a Captain as with any other battle mode. Just be careful when choosing that the Esper’s Captain ability works in Desolate Lands. If it worked in other Trials, it should do.
