Devil May Cry: Peak of Combat, a mobile spin-off of the action series, will receive a global release this year, and you can register for its closed beta now.
The mobile take on Devil May Cry comes from NebulaJoy Games, and promises to be a free-to-play action role-playing game. You'll be able to play as multiple characters, including Dante, Lady, Vergil, and Nero, and will feature both single-play and multiplayer modes. A press release notes that it will have hack-and-slash gameplay like in the original series, as well as a mixture of platforming and dungeon-crawling elements. And yes, it does have gacha mechanics.
If you're interested in trying out the game for yourself, then you can head to the game's official website to register your interest. The closed beta test will be available to both iOS and Android players, so it doesn't matter what platform you're on.
Each character you play as will apparently have unique abilities, weapons, and fighting powers, and you'll be able to build a team of up to three characters. You'll be able to collect various crafting materials too, and there will be raid bosses to take on as well.
Peak of Combat is the latest entry in the series, the most previous being Devil May Cry 5, from Capcom itself. There hasn't been any word on a new mainline entry game, though considering how well the game sold, it wouldn't be entirely unsurprising if there was one.
GameSpot's Devil May Cry 5 review gave the game a 9/10, saying, «Rarely does the game stumble, consistently leveraging its spectacle and mechanical depth to push aside any small frustrations. All the while, the story exudes a charismatic charm that keeps you constantly intrigued as you’re refining your skills.»
