Destiny 2: The Witch Queen is finally here, and players can dive in to face Savathun in her Throne World. But The Witch Queen expansion update brings more than just new content.
In addition to the usual campaign, raid, Exotics, and a bevy of weapons, this Destiny2 update fundamentally changes the Gambit game mode and Void subclasses. It also adds the new Glaive weapon type to the game, as well as a weapon crafting system. Of course, there are plenty of balance changes as well.

The Witch Queen is looking to be one of the biggest expansions we’ve ever seen for Destiny 2, and it’s filled with the kind of content you’d expect from a new Destiny update. There’s a new campaign (now with a Legendary variant), new activities, Savathun’s Throne World destination, a new raid, and more coming over the next few weeks.
The Glaive is a completely new weapon type in Destiny 2: The Witch Queen. A cross between a spear, a gun, and a shield, The Glaive is the game’s first first-person melee weapon. It uses Special ammo, and players can fire explosive bolts from its tip. By dealing damage, Guardians activate a special shield that protects the user from damage. There’s at least one Legendary Glaive in the campaign, and a unique Exotic Glaive for each class.
Weapon Crafting is an oft requested feature in the Destiny community, and it’s finally here with The Witch Queen. Players will be able to craft a series of weapons (although some will remain random roll only), selecting specific perks and personalizing their guns for years to come.
