Destiny 2's current meta is often defined by powerful or useful guns that can bring unique value to either PvP or PvE, be it by having a great perk combination that not many other weapons have, a specific frame, an Exotic trait, and more. The game's meta often shifts dramatically afters every major sandbox patch released alongside a new Season or, more uncommonly, mid-Season. Bungie's latest TWAB announced that a mid-Season update is indeed coming to Destiny 2, with the specific purpose of rebalancing some weapon archetypes in PvP and the recent changes to in-air accuracy made with Season of the Haunted.
As far as PvE goes, the TWAB announced an upcoming buff to pellet shotguns, which will deal 25% more damage when the patch goes live. While pellet shotguns are often not a great pick in PvE outside more trivial activities in terms of difficulty, this specific change will very likely make two underused Destiny 2 Exotics very powerful. In fact, an Exotic shotgun called The Fourth Horseman is a strong weapon to bring to boss fights already, but with a 25% damage bonus it can be even better — especially with Arc 3.0. However, an incredible Exotic to pair with The Fourth Horseman for even more DPS now is going to be the Hunters' Radiant Dance Machines boots, which provide players with extra Dodges for a short duration.
