Bungie wants you to help test this major new Destiny 2 feature.

Bungie has offered an update on its upcoming Fireteam Finder tool for Destiny 2, revealing that it will be opening a beta to all players to help stress test the new feature. Despite usually keeping beta tests in house, Bungie explained that it will be open testing Fireteam Finder in order to get it launch-ready faster.
In a new dev blog, Bungie has explained its plans and desired outcomes for the beta, especially to «deliver a first-class Fireteam Finder for all activities by The Final Shape,» through «a schedule of multiple testing phases that progressively refine the new feature.» Bungie has also said it plans to «be nimble» with the testing phase, modifying the beta process as it goes based on any new information or issues that arise.

The first planned open beta event is a stress test focused on raids that will run on November 30. In keeping with the idea of being nimble, Bungie says it hopes to run the test from 9 AM to 5 PM PST, but may have to end it early if necessary.
The results of the stress test will determine when the full open beta will launch, but Bungie is hoping for a December beta in time for a full launch in January.
