A new Dead Island 2 gameplay showcase has shown off playing as a zombie for the first time.
The showcase, which also featured a live-action trailer for the game, showed off some of the new weapons included in the game, such as burning katanas. Players will be able to upgrade these weapons throughout their time with the game.
The game, which takes place in California will see players visit Beverly Hills, Santa Monica, and Hollywood Hills.

It was also announced that players will be able to control the game using Alexa Game Control. This allows players to perform in-game actions using their voices. This will be available to players on Xbox and PC, in English in the United States, Canada and the United Kingdom.
A special edition, known as the HELL-A edition, was also detailed as part of the showcase.

Players who pre-order any edition of Dead Island 2 will receive the Memories Of Banoi Pack, featuring two unique weapons that celebrates the original Dead Island game and a special skill card.
Most recently scheduled for release on February 3, 2023, the game will now launch on April 28 for PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, Stadia, and PC via the Epic Games Store. First announced in 2014, the zombie action RPG sequel has suffered a series of delays and changes of developer.
Dead Island 2 takes place in Los Angeles and features six playable characters.
