A new playable character called Bruno has just been unveiled for Dead Island 2. In the trailer, gamers can learn more about Bruno’s main skills ahead of the launch of Dead Island 2 on April 28.
In Dead Island 2, players will need to use several skills to survive in an infested version of Los Angeles which is crawling with zombies. The title is the sequel to the original Dead Island, released over a decade ago, and it has changed its release date several times now. Initially announced back in 2014, the game had a troubled development, changing developers and starting from scratch quite a few times. It started with Yager Development back in 2012, but then was replaced by Sumo Digital in 2015, and finally by Dambuster in 2019.

The new character Bruno will bring unique abilities to the table, such as backstabbing, and rapid reprisal, meaning that he will be efficient in taking enemies by surprise and counter-attacking. In the trailer, he’s described as a Los Angeles hustler who loves “being challenged” and really hates corruption. There are also a few short scenes in which it’s possible to see the character in action during Dead Island 2’s brutal and gory combat. For instance, in one scene, gamers can see how Bruno quickly dodges an attack and counterattacks with a ranged weapon.
Despite not really having in-depth information about what the gameplay from Bruno will look like compared to other characters, it’s already known that Dead Island 2 will not have skill trees like the previous title, but use a more modular system instead.
