As the Batman in the Flashpoint Beyond reality appears to accidentally recruit his own Robin, Bruce Wayne's alt-universe father is corrupting the one person he'd disapprove of most.
The Flashpoint universe was created when the Flash went back in time and prevented his mother's murder at the hands of the Reverse-Flash. This triggered an alternate reality where Bruce Wayne died in crime alley instead of his parents. His father, Thomas Wayne, eventually became a murderous Batman. He helped the Flash restore the proper timeline, but somehow the Flashpoint universe has come back, and Thomas has to figure out why and who is behind its return,

Harvey Dent isn’t the district attorney here but a judge — one who wants Thomas Wayne prosecuted for murder, but was killed before he had a chance to engineer it. His son Dexter was with him when it happened, and Thomas takes the boy in. While Thomas is claiming it's because he's the witness to a crime, it's hinted his real motivation is that Dexter is the same age as Bruce was when he died, and he's subconsciously replacing his son. In Tim Sheridan, Geoff Johns, Jeremy Adams, Xermanico, and Mikel Janin's Flashpoint Beyond #1, Thomas leaves Dexter in the care of this reality's Oswald Cobblepot, leading to some unorthodox training that seems set to create the next Robin.
