The announcement that Daredevil: Born Again is coming to Disney+ in the spring of 2024 may not have come as a surprise to everyone, but what is a surprise is that it may have the opposite problem as most MCU shows. Shockingly, it was revealed that the show's first season is getting an unprecedented 18-episode run, one of the most exciting announcements for Marvel Studios' upcoming Phase 5. While audiences can be excited to see the return of Charlie Cox's Daredevil and Vincent D'Onofrio's Kingpin, the number of episodes could create a major problem for the future of Marvel's Disney+ shows over the next few years.
Four years after Netflix canceled their wildly popular Daredevil series, which last saw Matt Murdock defeating Wilson Fisk after the latter married Vanessa, Kevin Feige announced a revival series at San Diego Comic-Con rather than the straightforward Daredevil season 4 that had been expected. Marvel Studios clearly has a significant plan for the Devil of Hell's Kitchen, as he is set to appear in multiple episodes of She-Hulk: Attorney at Law in August and Echo next summer. Little is known about Born Again as it was only just announced. What is known is that Cox and D'Onofrio are returning and that it will be part of MCU Phase 5, releasing shortly before Thunderbolts culminates the events of that phase. One major question that audiences have on their mind is what kind of tone the series will have.
