Cyberpunk 2077 just wrapped up its most recent Night City Wire Livestream, announcing a huge Phantom Liberty expansion coming in 2023 and Update 1.6, which will be the last prominent patch for PS4 and Xbox One. It doesn’t look like last-gen will be getting any major Cyberpunk 2077 expansions either.
Update 1.6, titled the «Edgerunners Update,» brings a slew of new content to fit into the upcoming Cyberpunk Edgerunners Netflix anime. Players will be able to wear the same yellow jacket worn by David Martinez from the show and equip a new weapon also featured in the anime. Additionally, there appears to be a new quest and playable character tying into the show, which will likely be where players can find the jacket and weapon. Notably, Cyberpunk 2077’s Update 1.6 will also add a transmog feature where players can change the appearance of their clothing while retaining the same stats from a different piece of gear.

However, CD Projekt Red has confirmed that Cyberpunk 2077’s «Edgerunner Update» will be the final big patch for PS4 and Xbox One consoles. This comes as a significant loss, seeing as the studio has also announced that in the future, Cyberpunk 2077 will receive completely overhauled police and vehicle-to-vehicle combat systems. At launch, both of those systems received a lot of flak, and now one of the most requested fixes for the game will be exclusive to current-gen console owners. On top of that, last-gen users will also miss out on the upcoming Phantom Liberty DLC, which promises to expand into a new part of Night City.
