CD Projekt Red has announced that later on today, players of Cyberpunk 2077 will be able to download new content based around Cyberpunk: Edgerunners. Cyberpunk: Edgerunners is the Netflix anime adaptation of Cyberpunk 2077, and while both the series and the game take place within Night City, there might be some confusion around how the two will work together. This is because Cyberpunk: Edgerunners focuses on a set of different characters than Cyberpunk 2077, and it has its own protagonist.
The protagonist for Cyberpunk: Egderunners will be the new playable character in the DLC coming to Cyberpunk 2077. This will mean that players will ditch their customized V for David Martinez, the protagonist of the anime. The DLC is set to be a story-focused expansion for Cyberpunk 2077, focusing on Martinez in a narrative adventure taking place alongside the events of the game. This comes as part of Patch 1.6 for Cyberpunk 2077, which was revealed today by CD Projekt Red.

As well as adding content related to Cyberpunk: Edgerunners, the new update will also bring some more features to Cyberpunk 2077. A new mini-game will be available called «Roach Race,» which looks like a retro version of The Witcher, complete with a nod to the meme of Geralt's horse Roach getting stuck on top of a house. As well as the mini-game, players will also be able to access new photo mode features, and after a long period of waiting, Cyberpunk 2077 fans finally can transmog their gear, meaning they can travel around Night City in style without compromising their armor stats.
