There are many new recipes coming to Engineering in The War Within, including a new craftable mount: Crowd Pummeler 2-30. While crafted mounts are not uncommon to see in Engineering, this new ancient dwarven style mount is unique since it will be quite the «gold-sink» for many players. It is compatible with skyriding and is purchasable on the Auction House.
How can Engineers get their hands on this new mount? First, you'll need to learn the recipe — and there's some RNG involved.
To obtain the Crowd Pummeler 2-30 recipe, Engineers will need to utilize the new Pilfering and Inventing system in The War Within.
While exploring in The War Within, Engineers will come across Pile of Rusted Scrap. Engineers can also salvage leftover engineering parts from various expansions and turn them into Pile of Rusted Scrap through Pilfer Through Parts. These parts can be new from The War Within, like Gyrating Gear, or can be from previous expansions, like Silver Contact. Once an engineer has 25 Pile of Rusted Scrap, they can Invent a new Prototype every 24 hours. These prototypes can then be disassembled for a handful of Hastily Scrawled Notes. Depending on your specializations, you may even earn Hastily Scrawled Notes from Inventing!
If you have extra scrap and do not want to wait on your daily cooldown, you can also decide to Scour Through Scrap. This has a chance to give you another prototype that you can disassemble. Just remember, you will go through a lot of scrap — meaning you will need to salvage even more parts.
Once an Engineer has 15 Hastily Scrawled Notes, they can combine them into one Comprehensibly Organized Ideas. When used, Comprehensibly Organized Ideas will allow you to pick 1 of 3 random available recipes determined by your current specializations. If you are lucky, you will have the option to choose the Crowd Pummeler 2-30.
