It has only been a few months since Square Enix announced that it is releasing Crisis Core: Final Fantasy 7 Reunion later this year on all major gaming platforms. Fans of the popular Final Fantasy 7 video game who were unable to play through the original PlayStation Portable title will now finally be able to do so. Ahead of the action RPG’s launch, Crisis Core: Final Fantasy 7 Reunion seems to have already received its ESRB rating, giving fans a chance to speculate about what changes might be implemented in the remaster.
First released in Japan in 2007, Crisis: Core Final Fantasy 7 tells the story and adventures of Zack Fair in SOLDIER. To those unfamiliar with the main plot of FF7, Zack plays an integral role in Final Fantasy 7 protagonist Cloud Strife’s journey as a Shinra soldier. Despite Zack’s minimal presence in the original PlayStation RPG, the community seems to have developed a soft spot for the character. This is likely why Square Enix developed and produced Crisis Core 15 years ago.
Crisis Core: Final Fantasy 7 Reunion Dev Says It’s More Than a Remaster
Though the official Crisis Core: Final Fantasy 7 Reunion release date has yet to be revealed, news has already popped up online that indicates the action RPG has received its ESRB rating. The remaster has been given the «T» rating as well as tags for blood and violence. Compared to the original PlayStation Portable title, the rating remains the same but will be missing tags like mild language and mild suggestive themes. This may mean that Square Enix is taking a more censored approach to the remaster, given how graphic and violent the original could be in terms of gameplay and story scenes.
