Nine Perfect Strangers star Luke Evans has officially been tapped to join the cast for Amazon MGM Studios’ forthcoming crime drama series, which will debut on Prime Video. He is set to portray the lead role of Tracy Lawless.
The character’s full description reads, “Tracy Lawless was pushed out of the outlaw life of his family at the age of 18 when a judge gave him a choice of prison or the military. In the Army, Tracy thrived, his wild outlaw instincts getting funneled into the strict discipline of the military. He was placed into the Special Forces and trained to be an expert in covert operations and guerilla warfare. But underneath it all, the Lawless blood still pumps in his heart.”
Evans will be joining previously announced cast members Emilia Clarke, Charlie Hunnam, Richard Jenkins, John Hawkes, Adria Arjona, Logan Browning, Kadeem Hardison, Pat Healy, Taylor Sele, Gus Halper, Aliyah Camacho, Michael Mando, Marvin Jones III, Michael Xavier, and Dominic Burgess. The series is based on Ed Brubaker and Sean Phillips’ graphic novel series of the same name. It is executive produced by Brubaker, who has also signed on as a showrunner, with Captain Marvel filmmakers Ryan Fleck and Anna Boden attached to direct the first four episodes. It is a production by Legendary Television and Amazon MGM Studios, with Phillips, Sarah Carbiener and Philipp Barnett executive producing.
Originally released in 2006, Criminal is an ongoing comic series originally published by Marvel Comics and now published by Image Comics. It follows various self-contained stories that focus on different characters, all of whom grew up in the fictional Center City and often frequent the same bar and share a history of growing up in the world of crime.
