Celebrity Big Brother contestants Lamar Odom and Todd Bridges bonded in the house on many levels, and they even talked about working on a sitcom together. Lamar, a 42-year-old retired two-time NBA champion, and Todd, a 56-year-old actor most recognized for playing Willis on Diff'rent Strokes, aligned in the game early on. Lamar and Todd joined an alliance with Miesha Tate and Todrick Hall, but they soon realized that Miesha and Todrick were more loyal to their own final 2 deal than they were to them. They knew that if they wanted to further themselves in the game, then they would have to fight to win competitions and shift the power in the house. Lamar and Todd supported each other until they were both voted out of the house during the double eviction episode.
Both Lamar and Todd have struggled with drug addiction throughout the years. In 2015, Lamar was hospitalized due to a medical emergency after he had used cocaine in the days prior to the incident. He suffered kidney failure, several heart attacks, and 12 strokes. He became comatose and was placed on life support. Lamar had an amazing recovery from this ordeal, and is now sober after recovering from his cocaine addiction. During his exit interview with Julie Chen Moonves, Lamar revealed that he had asked Todd Bridges to be his sober coach. Lamar said that Todd has been sober for 33 years, and that he sees him as an inspiration. He hopes to continue to learn from him in the future, and looks forward to cultivating their friendship outside of the Celebrity Big Brother house.
