Warning: Spoilers for Carnage Forever #1!
The Marvel symbiote known as Carnage has recently struck out on his own, and now he’s getting a new form thanks to the Spider-Man villain known as Hydro-Man! This longtime Spidey rogue might be on the lower rung of evil villains, but now with the newly host-less Carnage seeking him out, fans might want to take a better look at this watery baddie and what he can offer an already deadly foe.
Seen in Carnage Forever #1, this issue gives fans a few quick stories centering around Marvel’s meanest symbiote with the short titled “Unmade In His Image,” by Ram V and Salvador Larroca, acting as a prologue for Carnage’s new series launching later this month. And as fans get ready for that highly anticipated premiere, writer Ram V takes his time to set up an intriguing new direction for the character made especially interesting by the addition of the last villain fans expected to see.

Breaking into the place where Hydro-Man is located via dripping himself through the sprinkler system like the gooey blob he is, Carnage proceeds to cut a bloody swath of death and destruction through the prisonguards on the way to Hydro-Man’s holding cell. Recently having lost his longtime human host in Cletus Kasady only to develop the rare ability to survive and thrive without him, Hydro-Man initially thinks Carnage intends to pair up with him as he understands that symbiotes can’t last long without bonding to something organic. But what happens next is a far cry from using Hydro-Man as a host as what Carnage has in mind is something much worse entirely.
