Activision quietly confirms that a Ranked game mode for Call of Duty: Warzone 2 is being worked on for release later on. It's a big day for Call of Duty: Warzone 2, as Season 2 has officially been released along with substantial new content additions to the battle royale. Yet the content pipeline for Call of Duty: Warzone 2 is never ending, and Activision managed to slip in a surprising announcement regarding the future of the battle royale.
Season 2 has officially begun not just for Call of Duty: Warzone 2, but also for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2. One of the most substantial additions for Modern Warfare 2 just happens to be a new Ranked mode. Ranked unlocks at level 16 and allows Modern Warfare 2 players to climb through 8 different Skill Divisions based on a server-side Skill Rating. Ranked play in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 will be robustly supported to create what Activision describes as the most «competitive» Call of Duty experience ever made.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2 Season 2 is Now Live
It seems that Ranked play for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 is just the start of Activision's plans, though. In a post detailing Activision's future plans for Call of Duty following the release of Season 2, the publisher confirms plans to release a Ranked mode for Call of Duty: Warzone 2, as well. In a list of upcoming content, Activision says explicitly that Warzone Ranked is «CONFIRMED.»
Unfortunately, there's going to be a wait before Ranked play arrives in Call of Duty: Warzone 2.
