Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2's release is right around the corner, and so Activision has offered details on when fans can expect to pre-load the game and exactly when they will be able to play the campaign if they have early access. Anyone that pre-orders the digital version of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 can play the campaign early, and now we know the exact time that campaign early access begins.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 fans that have pre-ordered the game can pre-load the campaign early access starting October 19 at 10am PT across all platforms. They will gain access to the Modern Warfare 2 campaign early access starting October 20 at 10am PT, at which point they should be able to play through the entirety of the MW2 story campaign. As far as the full game goes, pre-loading will be a bit different depending on platform.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Making Big Change to 3rd Person Mode for Launch
On Xbox, pre-loading the Modern Warfare 2 full game starts October 19 at 10am PT. On PlayStation, it starts October 19 at 4am PT, with regional rollouts. And finally, those on PC will be able to pre-load the full Modern Warfare 2 game on October 26 at 10am PT.
Besides confirming the Modern Warfare 2 pre-load dates and times, Activision also gave fans a glimpse at what they can expect from post-launch content. The game's «pre-season» will take place from October 28 to November 15, while Season 1 will kick off with the launch of the Call of Duty: Warzone 2.0 battle royale and DMZ game mode on November 16. It's unclear how long Season 1 will last, but fans can count on it lasting until the new year at least.
