Activision officially started Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2's Multiplayer Open Beta by opening access to PlayStation pre-orderers. 2022's highly anticipated Call of Duty release is quickly approaching its late-October launch. Activision is sticking with tradition and hosting several betas for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 leading up to launch, with its Multiplayer beta starting things off. It's just a matter of navigating Activision's complex design for which Call of Duty fans have access to the beta and when.
Open beta for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 will offer an introductory look at what will be available in the full game. The hard cap for the two-week beta's progression will be Rank 30, though Rank 15 will be the cap for the first weekend. Content featured in the open beta includes multiple game modes, maps, weapons, and more, but gameplay will be focused on the core 6v6 Multiplayer experience Call of Duty is known for.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Bringing Back Special Ops Co-Op Mode
This first Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 beta is being broken into four different phases, with each phase adding more players to the ongoing beta. The first phase of the open beta starts today, September 16, and is open to PlayStation players who have pre-ordered Modern Warfare 2. The next phase starts September 18 and ends September 20 and is open to everyone on PlayStation platforms. Reopening September 22, the beta will welcome Modern Warfare 2 pre-orderers on PC and Xbox consoles. Finally, on September 24 the beta is open to everyone until it ends on September 26.
