The midseason update for Call of Duty Vanguard and Warzone arrives, signaling the final one before Modern Warfare 2 launches in October. It's likely a bittersweet moment for fans as the final season, also known as Last Stand, is about to reach its conclusion both in narrative as well as the content that is going to be released. However, the pattern here isn't unique as traditionally, each Call of Duty title is given a year's worth of content before the next mainline game is launched.
The interesting aspect here is that the midseason update is not only the final one for Call of Duty: Vanguard, but the still very popular Warzone as well. As many Call of Duty fans got a first taste of Warzone 2 just a few weeks ago, development has shifted to its successor to ensure that the mode is ready to go right out of the gate. For Warzone fans, a new game mode called Resurgence Supreme is getting added to Rebirth Island and is available for Solo, Duos, Trios, and Quads. During this mode, the map is filled with epic or greater rarity items including fan-favorite weapon blueprints shifting the focus more towards skill rather than having a great loadout. Raven has fine-tuned the game mode for competitive play by increasing player health points, removing «extraneous items» and doubling rewards for actions to encourage more active play.
