Yes, you read that right. The iPhone 14 Pro Max is infested with bugs! No, not the kind that makes your home a living hell. But the current crop of software bugs on the iPhone 14 Pro Max is certainly making it tough to live with it in just three weeks. The iPhone 14 Pro Max went on sale three weeks ago and ever since then, we have had it with us as a daily driver. And we have seen some weird issues come up during the period. But what about the rest of the phone? Is the iPhone 14 Pro Max worth all the hype and its price?
After living with the iPhone 14 Pro Max for three weeks now, it becomes easy to answer this question. Although, iPhones continue to get better with each passing day, as we witnessed with the iPhone 13 Pro Max last year. As of now though, this is the current status on the iPhone 14 Pro Max.
- One of the biggest issues with the iPhone 14 Pro Max is the plethora of bugs. In its current state, iOS 16 brings innumerable bugs to the iPhone. We have observed issues with keyboard position in certain apps, a glitch Dynamic Island, occasional freezing, and connectivity issues with AirPods Pro 2nd Gen.
- Then there's the camera performance, which needs some fine tuning. The bigger 48MP camera and Photonic Engine are doing wonders in daylight as well as night time, impressing us with details and colours. However, under indoor/artificial lighting, the camera struggles with details, exposure, metering, and white balance. This is an even bigger issue with the selfie camera, which simply struggles indoors. The portrait mode cutouts also leave much to be desired.
- The Always On display feature is a major battery hog. We have left it turned off until there is a fix, or a simpler implementation.
