Nintendo just released a new trailer which offers a good look at the upcoming Xenoblade Chronicles 3. The game will be released worldwide on July 29, 2022 for the Nintendo Switch.
The trailer appears to be a cutscene from somewhere in the middle of Xenoblade Chronicles 3. Two of the main characters in the game, Noah and Ethel, can be seen coming into conflict with each other after destroying a robot. "There's a bit of history between Noah's team and Ethel of Xenoblade Chronicles 3,” Nintendo explained. “When they were all much younger, Ethel saved them from an Agnian attack. Since then, Noah and his friends have looked up to her, so why does she now see them as enemies?"

With its release date fast approaching, Nintendo has been sharing some information about the gameplay in Xenoblade Chronicles 3 including a detailed breakdown of its mechanics. “As in other Xenoblade Chronicles games, the vast field is inhabited by a wide variety of creatures from easily defeated organisms to huge enemies that are very hard to defeat in the early stages of the adventure,” Nintendo noted last week. “It is up to the player to choose to either fight or run away from the stronger opponents. Even If the monster is a little bit higher-ranked, feel free to challenge it.”
Nintendo described how there will be three combat roles in Xenoblade Chronicles 3 which consist of Attacker, Defender, and Healer. The company also noted that players will be able to “switch between the six playable characters (Noah, Lanz, Eunie, Mio, Taion and Sena) at any time, while on the move or in battle.”
