Din Djarin and his Mandalorian tribe return in The Book of Boba Fett, though the episode arguably creates a plot hole regarding beskar armor. Mandalorians are traditionally outfitted in suits of beskar armor, but Din Djarin acquired a rare beskar weapon in season 2 of The Mandalorian. The weapon was viewed disapprovingly by The Armorer, and her reasoning possibly contradicts a fundamental quality of all Mandalorians’ weapons-laden beskar armor.
Traditional Mandalorian armor is made of the rare and extremely durable metal known as beskar. The metal originates on the Mandalorian home world of Mandalore, is strong enough to resist the bolts of most blasters, and is impervious to lightsaber blades. The armor is typically outfitted with numerous built-in weapons and devices, and when coupled with the war-like nature of Mandalorian culture, many Mandalorians, unsurprisingly, became bounty hunters.

In The Book of Boba Fett “Chapter 5: Return of the Mandalorian,” Din Djarin returns to his tribe, now the owner of both a beskar spear and the legendary Darksaber. His tribe’s leader, The Armorer, notes both the purity of the spear’s beskar and its ability to pierce Mandalorian armor, stating that beskar should be used for armor, not weapons, as the spear poses a risk to all Mandalorians. The Armorer’s words conflict with the weapon-laden suits of Mandalorian armor, plus the existence of other beskar weapons, such as whistling birds, which she crafted for Din Djarin.
