The Book of Boba Fett episode 5 includes a connection to Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, but was that actually Cal Kestis' droid BD-1 that appeared? Released in late 2019 right before The Mandalorian debuted, Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order told a new story set in the galaxy far, far away focused on a young Jedi named Cal Kestis and his droid sidekick BD-1. Since the introduction of the BD unit droids, the Star Wars franchise has incorporated them into other forms of storytelling, with The Book of Boba Fett episode 5 the latest piece of content to include a BD droid.
Viewers saw the first live-action BD droid in The Book of Boba Fett episode 5, «Return of the Mandalorian.» The droid is prominently featured at Peli Motto's hangar as the newest addition to her droid crew. The BD unit doesn't play a massive role in the episode, but that didn't make the moment any less exciting for those familiar with Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order and BD-1. However, it has also created questions about whether the droid featured in The Book of Boba Fett episode 5 is BD-1 or just another BD unit droid.

Based on the appearance of the BD unit droid, it doesn't appear The Book of Boba Fett episode 5 included BD-1 after all. The BD droid featured in the episode has an all-white color scheme, but BD-1 had red accent colors in Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order.
