Blizzard’s president says Diablo 4 release on Xbox Game Pass ‘isn’t happening’
Blizzard’s president has shot down speculation that Diablo 4 is coming to Xbox Game Pass.
Mike Ybarra commented on the matter after it was reported that Brazilian payment app PicPay was advertising the game as being available on Microsoft’s subscription service.
“This is not happening,” he stated in response to the report.

While it might be true that there are currently no plans to bring Diablo 4 to Game Pass, Microsoft’s head of gaming has said the company intends to put as many Activision Blizzard titles as it can on the subscription service should its proposed acquisition of the company be cleared by regulators.
“We intend to make Activision Blizzard’s much-loved library of games – including Overwatch, Diablo and Call of Duty – available in Game Pass and to grow those gaming communities,” Xbox boss Phil Spencer said last September.
Microsoft is currently awaiting the outcome of a court battle with the US Federal Trade Commission, which is seeking to block its $69 billion Activision Blizzard deal over antitrust concerns.
Diablo 4 generated $666 million in sales during the first five days following its early June release for PC, PlayStation and Xbox consoles, according to Activision Blizzard. The Satanic-themed milestone made it Blizzard’s fastest-selling game ever, the publisher said.
Blizzard announced last week that Diablo 4 Season 1: Season of the Malignant will begin on July 20.
