According to a new report,Black Mirror season 6 is officially in development at Netflix. First released in 2011, Black Mirror quickly became a hit on Netflix, comprising a series of Twilight-Zone-like standalone episodes, each exploring a different aspect of techno-paranoia in the modern world. The popular series has since aired four additional seasons of varying episode lengths and even saw an interactive feature film, Black Mirror: Bandersnatch, released in 2018.
With its fifth season having been released on Netflix in 2019, many fans wondered whether the show would return for another outing. Unlike previous seasons, Black Mirror season five featured only three episodes, «Striking Vipers,» «Smithereens,» and «Rick, Jack, and Ashley Too.» The show has featured appearances from a number of well-known actors, including Hayley Atwell, Daniel Kaluuya, Jon Hamm, Miley Cyrus, Jesse Plemons, and Jodie Whitaker. Season 5's «Striking Vipers» even saw MCU actor Anthony Mackie, who plays Falcon, appear opposite Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, who recently played Morpheus in The Matrix Resurrections.

According to a new report from Variety, Black Mirror season 6 is currently in the works at Netflix. While details regarding the individual episode stories remain unknown, the upcoming season is expected to be even more cinematic than past installments, with each episode being treated essentially as its own individual film. Although season 6 is definitely on its way, there's no word yet on a potential release date.
