Warning! Spoilers ahead for Black Clover chapter 328!
It's incredible that Black Clover's Asta just destroyed Lucifero within the span of five measly seconds. However, the fact that Asta won without knowing Lucifero's true identity means that he might have lost his only opportunity of gaining closure from defeating him — and it's all because of Liebe.
Previously, Lucifero was clearly about to destroy Asta and Liebe who didn't have enough strength or time to form a devil union and unlock Asta's true form. All that changed, however, when Liebe's memories of Licita entered Asta's mind. Even though Liebe is aware that Licita is Asta's mother, the devil has chosen not to share this bit of pertinent information with his human partner for undisclosed reasons. Although Asta saw Liebe's memories, he was only exposed to enough of them to come to the misunderstanding that Lucifero killed a woman named Licita who meant a lot to Liebe and who had no connection with himself personally. Wanting to ensure his friend wouldn't die at the hands of the devil who killed his Licita, Asta was able to form a devil union with Liebe.

One small complication was time, as Asta only had five seconds to defeat him. In chapter 328, Asta succeeds in slashing Lucifero to bits within the five-second threshold. As a result, he is able to defeat an enemy who greatly hurt his friend. But there's a problem. Asta most likely didn't know that Licita was also his mother, even though Lucifero partially announced the truth when he connected the dots the moment before Asta cleaved him into numerous pieces.
