Nintendo is officially gearing up for its next full, big Direct. The company revealed this latest Nintendo Direct will stream on September 13 bright and early at 7 a.m. PT and “mostly” focus on Switch games launching this winter.
Nintendo obviously didn’t reveal what would be in this 40-minute show, but recent reports point to it having more than a few remasters. Insider Jeff Grubb and his podcast co-host Mike Minotti said Switch remasters of and were incoming in addition to a remaster of the first. That remaster has been floating around for some time and has reportedly been finished for a while, and if it is supposed to release in conjunction with its 20th anniversary in November, it would have to be announced soon.
While he was pretty adamant about the remasters, Grubb also speculated that this show could have information about ‘s untitled sequel. Seeing as though it is a longer Direct and is “mostly” going to feature games launching this year, there’s some room for Nintendo to talk more about this highly anticipated and mysterious follow-up that was delayed into 2023.
Reliable insider The Snitch also hinted that a rerelease was coming. And while not specifically positioned as a Direct-related reveal, Nintendo did announce the rerelease at a Nintendo Direct in June 2021. The show will possibly also have more information about and and , given how both are two notable new Switch titles slated for this year.
