Pete Hines, the Senior Vice President of Publishing for Bethesda Softworks, announced his retirement today on social media. The gaming executive has worked at the publisher for 24 years, helping to bring to life a multitude of games across the decades.
Both Hines and Bethesda published statements confirming the news, with Bethesda's statement on Twitter thanking Hines for his «24 years of leadership.» Hines has been around Bethesda since 1999 and has helped launch multiple award-winning titles for the company, from The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, Fallout 3 and Fallout 4, as well as worked on the company's foray into multiplayer with The Elder Scrolls Online and Fallout 76. Most recently, Hines helped publish Bethesda's first new IP in decades, Starfield.

«After 24 years, I have decided my time at Bethesda Softworks has come to an end. I am retiring and will begin an exciting new chapter of my life exploring interests and passions, donating my time where I can, and taking more time to enjoy life.»
