In modern times gamers have seemingly a lot of things to fear. From scalpers continuing to buy up the latest drops of new consoles and graphics cards, to games like Dying Light 2 that release with a huge hype train but are filled with bugs and glitches. Then there's the dreaded video game delay, something that has occurred to many titles in 2022 alone. Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League and The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild 2 are but two games being pushed into 2023. For Bayonetta 3 fans, this has created somewhat of a fear around the upcoming hack-and-slash title.
Bayonetta 3 has not been completely silent as of late. In September 2021, the third Bayonetta title showed off some gameplay at a Nintendo Direct showcase. Following that display though, there hasn't been much in terms of news on Bayonetta 3. The game hasn't even got a solid release date yet. But, as 2022 nears its halfway point, developer Platinum Games and publisher Nintendo are still promising that the game will come out this year.
Platinum Wants Players to Play the First Two Bayonetta Games Before 3
This news comes from Nintendo's latest financial earnings report. While providing information on the company's earnings from the previous year, and updating fans on the sales figures of the Nintendo Switch and popular titles like Pokemon Legends: Arceus, the report also granted somewhat of a roadmap for the platform owner's near future. This resulted in the report showing that Bayonetta 3 is still slated for a 2022 release date.
While Platinum and Nintendo seem committed to releasing Bayonetta 3 this year, neither company has stated when fans will get another look at the game. Some are speculating that this next glimpse could be at Nintendo's next Direct
