The Barry season 3 trailer has dropped, and the new season looks like it's got all the characters on the edge of their seats. Barry is a pitch-black comedy from creators Alec Berg (Seinfeld/Curb Your Enthusiam writer) and Bill Hader (SNL man of a thousand impressions/Documentary Now writer) about a hitman who tries to leave his life of violence behind to become an actor. After only two seasons, the show has racked up an impressive 30 Emmy nominations, including acting wins for both Hader and Henry Winkler, who plays Barry's acting class teacher/mentor, Gene Cousineau. The Barry season 3 will premiere April 24, three years after season 2 aired, which was delayed due to the coronavirus.
At the end of season 2, things had escalated, and several threads had come to a head. Barry's love interest/acting classmate Sally (Sarah Goldberg) went against his advice and lied about her heroic stand-up against her abusive ex-husband, potentially boosting her career to new heights while leaving her torn knowing she was perpetuating a lie. NoHo Hank (Anthony Carrigan), a former criminal colleague of Barry's, and Monroe Fuches (Stephen Root), his estranged handler, had teamed up against Barry for writing them both off and joined the Burmese and Bolivian mobs to stir up some trouble. Learning of the team-up and full of jealousy, Barry went full beast mode, ferociously gunning down most of the mafia (which could be added to Barry's list of dark deeds), with Fuches barely escaping with his life.
