Bang & Olufsen today unveiled its new Beoplay EX wireless earbuds with a smaller-than-ever fit.
Boasting an AirPod-esque stem, B&O is promising a more comfortable fit thanks to the petite in-ear housing design of the earbuds.
Built for use in the office, on the go, at the gym, or around the house, Beoplay EX features the brand's biggest (9.2mm) driver for "a significant upgrade in the power of each audio moment," according to a company press release.
Expect the usual bells and whistles like active noise cancellation (ANC), sweat and IP57-certified dust/waterproof, multipoint two-device pairing, and a matching pocket-sized battery case with wireless charging support. Battery life is estimated to be six hours with ANC enabled, and a total 20 hours playback in conjunction with the portable case.
"This combination of unrivalled sound quality and impressive ANC is matched with an upgrade in call quality, so that Beoplay EX can be used for taking meetings or personal calls at any moment," the company said. "Each earphone has three microphones, beamforming technology, and own voice functionality built in."
Priced at $399, the Beoplay EX earbuds will be available in Anthracite Oxygen from May 5, Gold Tone from May 27, and Black Anthracite from June. That's significantly more expensive than Apple's $249 AirPods Pro (which only come in white), so it will be interesting to see if paying an extra $150 is warranted when the reviews start appearing.
