The Barbarian class from Dungeons & Dragons is now playable in Baldur's Gate 3, which has drawn a mixed response from fans, many of whom expected one of the other remaining classes to join the game, or for a new level update to be added. Baldur's Gate 3 now has nine classes, each with its own subclasses that are selected at different levels.
In D&D, the Barbarian can use the Rage ability to weaponize their anger, dealing extra damage to foes in combat. They eschew armor and rely on pure instinct and toughness to see them through in combat. It's expected that Baldur's Gate 3 will include all of the classes from the D&D Player's Handbook at launch. Now that the Barbarian is part of the game, it only leaves the Bard, the Monk, and the Paladin. The Barbarian is the third D&D class to be addedin massive post-launch updates, as the Sorcerer class was added to Baldur's Gate 3, and the Druid was added before that.
